Verification is a crucial step to unlocking the full potential of your SomeDayNow experience. For Premium members, it builds trust with potential donors; for Partners, it is a mandatory legal requirement to process payments and bookings.
For Dreamers: Verified profiles receive a trust badge, signaling to the community and donors that you are a real person. This is often the key to successful crowdfunding.
For Partners: To comply with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations, all business partners must be verified before they can withdraw funds or manage automated bookings.
Security: Verification helps prevent fraud and keeps our community safe for everyone.
We use an integrated, browser-based system (powered by Tesseract.js OCR) to make verification fast and secure. You don't need to mail documents; you just need your smartphone or a webcam.
Ensure you have one of the following valid, unexpired government-issued photo IDs:
Passport (The entire personal info page)
Driver’s License (Front and back)
National ID Card (Front and back)
Pro Tip: Make sure you are in a well-lit room. Glare or shadows on the ID can cause the OCR (optical character recognition) to fail.
Navigate to Settings > Verification in your dashboard.
Click "Start Verification." 3. Our secure camera interface will open. Position your ID within the on-screen frame.
The system will automatically read the MRZ (Machine Readable Zone) or text on your document to verify your details.
To ensure the ID belongs to you, the system may ask for a quick "Liveness Check" or a selfie. Simply follow the on-screen prompts to blink or turn your head slightly.
Instant Check: In many cases, our system verifies your identity instantly.
Manual Review: If the photo was blurry or the document is unusual, our admin team will review it within 24–48 hours.
If you are signing up as a Business Partner, you may need to provide:
Business Registration: Proof that your company is legally registered (e.g., Certificate of Incorporation).
Tax ID: Your VAT or local tax identification number.
Bank Verification: Linking your business bank account via our Stripe integration to receive payouts.
"Image too blurry": Clean your camera lens and ensure the text is sharp before capturing.
"Document Expired": Please use a current ID; we cannot accept expired documents for legal reasons.
"Details Don't Match": Ensure the name on your SomeDayNow profile matches the legal name on your ID exactly.
Is my data safe? Yes. We use industry-standard encryption. Sensitive ID documents are processed securely and handled in accordance with GDPR and our privacy policy.
Can I skip verification? You can use basic features for free, but you won't be able to crowdfund significant amounts or operate as a Partner until verification is complete.
